Working With Water Spirits

Working With Water Spirits

Nymphs, Mermaids, Oceanids, Well Maiden, Lake Ladies, and Water Horse, oh my! The element of water is diverse and vast and holds within it a variety of malevolent and benevolent spirits. From Faery women such as the Gwragedd Annwn, Melusine, and the Lake Ladies to Selkie, Nix, Naiad, and Nereid. In this class, we will discuss working with water as an elemental as well as a variety of beings that fall under the Water Spirit umbrella. Many are shapeshifters that can move from human to inhuman form while others embody the water or are God-like beings. We will discuss which ones are safe to approach through spirituality and the more accurate and not-so-benevolent nature of spirits such as Mermaids and Water-Horse. We will also discuss different bodies of waters such as the ocean, lakes, rivers, bogs, canals, and the spirits that tend to dwell in these places. Our focus will be on European Water spirits but the lecture will establish that there are a wide variety of spirits to work with that dwell within or near water on a global scale.

Annwyn Avalon is a Water Priestess and Celtic Witch. She is the Author of The Way of the Water Priestess and Water Witchcraft: Magic and Lore from the Celtic Tradition. She is the founder of Water Priestess Training, The Water Priestess Confluence, Bewitching the Waters Symposium, and Triskele Rose Witchcraft a Avalonian Witchcraft Tradition. She has devoted her life to the study of Esoteric Water Mysteries, art, witchcraft and magic. Her path is one of sacred service to the waters of this world and her ancestors. She is an initiated Witch and Priestess, Reiki Master Teacher, award-winning Dancer, published author and has a BFA in sculpture, BA in Anthropology.. She has also received an apprentice certificate in Herbalism. She writes for the Magical Times Magazine in the UK and has contributed to other published works such as The New Aradia a Witches handbook for resistance, Brigid’s Light: Tending the Ancestral Flame of the Beloved Celtic Goddess, This Witch, and Witchology Magazine. She is the author of the Patheos Blog The Water Witch. She now lives in Glastonbury as the sacred steward of Chalice Orchard, the former home of the famous occultist Dion Fortune and is a Keeper at the White Spring. Accessing Your Spirit Guides

Have you ever wondered who your Spirit Guides are and how to connect with them?  Then this is the workshop for you!  Tahverlee will lead you through an in-depth discussion on how your guides are working behind the scenes, how to differentiate between all your spirit allies and how to open the flow of communication between you and your spiritual support team. You are never alone on this path as a human and the spirit world is accessible with simple rituals and a deeply open heart to receive their guidance and wisdom.

Tahverlee Anglen walks with the blood of Athena in her veins, a conduit between the underworld and the cosmos, and she’s here to guide soul-level work. As a High Priestess, Ritualist, Initiate of the Sacred Way, and Eleusinian Rites, she works deeply with her ancestors and wise circle of guides. She bridges barriers to connect with spirits who have passed on, living with one foot in the otherworld and one foot firmly rooted in mother nature. She is a business expert and spiritual leader, a social impact entrepreneur, podcast host, and accomplished speaker – someone who pushes the edge of society’s assumptions, continually redefining what it means to be a warrior, woman, healer, and witch. Tahverlee holds space unconditionally as a fierce seeker of truth. She is both the Temple Keeper at the Moon Temple Mystery School and a student of life. She commingles light and darkness to cut through the bindings that limit our own beliefs. She is a trusted leader who puts us in touch with our most genuine self-expression and ignites spiritual growth.

Eboni Banks lives in Brooklyn, New York, and is originally from Washington, D.C., and Silver Spring, Maryland. She is from a family of healers, including mystics, healers, and social workers, who have influenced her personally and professionally. Personally, Eboni relates to mysticism as she experiences multiple Clair senses. Self-Empowerment Through IWI

Self-Empowerment Through IWI

Three intangibles are necessary when casting spells: intuition, wisdom, and intention. These are all that a practitioner needs to make magic that is both accessible and powerful. In this workshop, Martha and Vini will discuss the power that lives within the witch and the paths one takes to access that magic while using these three intangibles. They will explain how each intangible works, both individually and in concert with each other. The goal of this workshop is to educate practitioners in finding their sense of empowerment with no tools or products of any sort. Attendees of this workshop will walk away with a greater understanding of how intuition, wisdom, and intention play a larger role in the crafting of their spells than any item or product they may think they need.

Martha Kirby Capo is a Solitary Witch currently working with Brigid, Hekate, Pan, and Cernunnos. She is the page manager of Patheos Pagan’s shared blog The Agora, where she writes as The Corner Crone. Her Moments for Meditation can be heard on KPPR Pure Pagan Radio. Vincent Higginbotham is not initiated in any traditional form of witchcraft practice. Instead, he is mostly self-taught, following his gut in all things magic. He spends plenty of time researching to be sure his intuition is informed by wisdom before setting his intentions. It is both of these authors’ goal to empower others the way they wish they had been empowered in their earlier years.

Witches’ Wisdom Tarot: A Different Path Into Magic

At the heart of The Witches’ Wisdom Tarot lies the divinely embodied wisdom of Mother Earth shown through more than 200 shamanic journeys. Divination is magic in action. It reveals hidden forces within, in the past and the present. It reveals the future these forces are creating. But there is a greater magic afoot: divination reveals the Divine. It’s an ancient spiritual practice of communication, materialization and inspiration. It’s how we speak directly to the Divine. And when we do, a mysterious, ancient and sacred force comes forward with answers, support and guidance that are always in our best interests. Divination is proof that we are never alone, that magic is real, that the Divine is real.

Spiritual pioneer, Phyllis Curott is an attorney, writer and one of America’s first public Witches. Her 5 international best-selling books have been published in 14 languages, making her the most widely published Wiccan author. An outspoken advocate in the courts and media, she handled or consulted on groundbreaking cases securing the legal rights of Witches, including cases of child custody, religious assembly, organization, expression, and free speech. Phyllis was the first Wiccan Trustee of the Parliament of the World’s Religions, and was elected Vice Chair of the 2015 Parliament, creating the Women’s Assembly, and served as the Program Chair for both the 2021 Virtual Parliament and the 2023 Parliament of the World’s Religions in Chicago.

Am I Cursed or Is It Just Gas?

In this class, you will learn

  • How to rule out the possibility of a curse
  • What to do if your divination tests positive for a curse
  • Identify situations that may be perceived as curses that may be hauntings, magical psychosomatics (aka haywire pk) or a misunderstanding of external energy
  • Methods to leverage a curse or hex into something useful for yourself – up to and including personal amusement
  • What steps to take to make receiving targeted negativity much more difficult

Diana Rajchel is the author of Hex Twisting and Urban Magick among other titles. She is the co-owner of California-based Golden Apple Metaphysical with Nikki Jobin, and runs a spiritual consultancy in Kalamazoo, Michigan with her partner, Synty Pelto-Boehm. She practices the art of magickal urbanism and is an animimist, spirit worker and community organizer. While she no longer follows an explicitly religious path she has found that practicing love, respect, and honor holds up pretty well. She specializes in solving problems that stump other practitioners (or finding the person that can) and in training empaths to live within their abilities and conditions with purpose.
